A 3-Minute Clarity Exercise
Use this now. Think of a situation that is bothering you, and walk through the steps below.
1. What am I telling myself is happening?
State it plainly.
2. Where does this go beyond what I actually know?
Where am I assuming, exaggerating, or treating something as certain that isn’t?
3. What do I actually know for sure?
Stick to facts. No interpretation.
4. What else could be true?
List at least two other possible explanations or outcomes.
5. Given all this, what is the right thing to do?
Not what is easiest, but what is clear, disciplined, and within your control.
This is a direct application of structured reasoning used throughout Path of Virtue.
Return to this process whenever your thinking becomes unclear or pressured.
