Notes By The Wayside #21 – No One Is Watching. Good. Do It Anyway.

It’s easy to act right when someone’s looking.

It’s easy to play the part when there’s an audience, a consequence, a prize. But that’s not who you are. That’s just who you perform.

The real test is in the quiet.

When no one will thank you.

When no one will see.

When no one will care.

So much of strength is built in the invisible places.

Where you don’t get credit.

Where the applause never comes.

Where the reward is nothing but the fact that you stayed true to yourself.

Do the work when it’s hidden.

Say the honest thing when it won’t earn you praise.

Refuse the shortcut when no one’s around to call it cheating.

No one is watching.

Good.

Do it anyway.
